GISGRO has won the tender of 3D digital mapping system for Dublin Port Company. The contract is for five years and consists of digitizing work and tailored port management solution by GISGRO.
Dublin Port Company manages the largest freight and passenger port in Ireland, Dublin Port. With its 650-acre area and personnel of 150 people, it is considered a key part in the national port system and one of the five major ports of Ireland.
Last year the port company published a tender for a 3D digital mapping system to get their asset management and operations planning at the cutting-edge of port technology. They wanted a complete system for managing the port’s GIS and asset data, which currently was dispersed to several different data storages. GISGRO filled the requirements for quality and wanted features and is now delivering the digital twin solution for Dublin Port Company. The contract is for five years and consists of digitizing work and tailored port management solution by GISGRO. Digitizing work is already in good speed, so the port can quickly start using the digital twin in their daily work.
‘’Ports work with several different types of data and having all that data at your fingertips in a visual cloud-based GIS platform creates a significant value for different stakeholders around the port. Ports typically have all the ingredients available for digital twin, but the challenge is to find a platform which can handle and visualize various types of data. In GISGRO, the data migration process is really simple and polished, which means that Dublin Port Company’s account was up and running just in a couple of weeks”, says Ville Mäkeläinen, CBDO at GISGRO
