Bathymetric tools allow you to visualize and analyze the depth information of a dataset in map view. How elevation model is calculated in GISGRO?
Colormap, contours and soundings
The bathymetric chart allows you to visualize the depth levels within your survey area region. To get the chart visible on the map, first select bathymetric tools from the button on the top left corner. You can select the dataset you want to visualize from the drop-down menu or by clicking the dataset on the map. Choose the colormap and adjust the visibility and scaling. Deactivate the tool by clicking on the menu again or close the panel.
There are two different bathymetric charts calculated: shallowest and mean. You can change between these charts by clicking corresponding icon next to dataset name
Shallowest (shoal biased) DEM is only available only in datasets uploaded after March 5th 2021
An admin can create a new colormap and edit or delete the existing ones in the Settings section.
You can activate contours and soundings simply by selecting them in the bathymetric tools panel. Contours and soundings can also be exported in DXF format. Click the Export section in the Bathymetric tools panel, choose what you want to export and adjust the settings.
The adjustment of the sliders will not have a visual representation on the map, but the changes will be incorporated in the exported file.
Click Export to download the DXF file. Deactivate the tool by clicking on the menu again.
Comparison tool is for comparing two overlapping survey areas and see the difference between them.
You find the dataset comparison in the bathymetric tools panel. Pair overlapping survey areas from the drop-down lists and adjust the positions of maximum and minimum difference values. Deactivate the tool by clicking the icon again.
Clearance depth tool is for highlighting depth deviation from the desired level. With clearance depth tool it is very easy to visualize underkeel clearance in the surveyed area.
You find the clearance depth tool in the bathymetric tools panel. Select the wanted dataset(s) from the drop-down menu or by clicking on the map and adjust the position of the reference level using the slider. You can also choose contours and soundings to be active on the map. Deactivate the tool by closing the panel.
